The UK’s largest student games festival, Brains Eden, held June 24-27 at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, has received a record number of registrations for 2016!
Now in its eighth year, Brains Eden gives student teams from across Europe the opportunity to show their creativity and skills in game development during a 48-hour Games Jam based around a mystery theme announced at the event.
Outside of the Jam, career-focused clinics, gaming workshops and networking allow students to meet key industry members and speak to people currently working in the games industry – previous entrants have found internships and employment based on their experiences at Brains Eden.
This year, ARM will be providing guidance and workshops for teams as well as FNF ifive Air tablets* for those wishing to develop their games for mobile devices – We are looking forward to meeting the teams and seeing what they can come up with!

FXP – for younger students
Running concurrently with Brains Eden is FXP, a Games Jam for students in secondary or further education linked to the Computer Science curriculum. Students at FXP will also attend some of the Brains Eden workshops as part of the event. FXP is supported by local companies and teaching resources are available to help students prepare.
ARM has provided tablets for game development and prizes for the winning team in the ‘Concept’ category.
