Location: MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
ARM will be attending Reality, Virtually, Hackathon! , a Virtual and Augmented Reality hackathon in which participants from MIT, other top universities, and the VR and AR communities will form teams to develop innovative software solutions that will unlock the technology’s potential in categories such as VR/AR for good, Health/Medicine, Education, Industry, Productivity, Advertising and Monetization, Social Networking, and other vertical applications.
We will be presenting the following talk on the 7th of October:
‘Delivering High quality mobile Virtual Reality’
High quality mobile VR is demanding not only on GPUs but across the system. It requires close cooperation of many components, notably low-latency, zero-copy paths between video, GPU and display, as well as careful power management to ensure predictable timing within thermal limits, which is especially important with mobile VR. With this in mind, we look at how to deliver the best mobile VR experience.
